Partnering for community impact

Community Clothing Closet is a volunteer‑powered nonprofit providing free clothing to families across Issaquah and the East King County. We partner with schools, housing communities, and local organizations to bring pop‑up free clothing events directly to where people live, learn, and gather.

Our story

Cheryl, Lisa, and Angela met while volunteering at the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank (IFCB) and became friends through their shared interest in community engagement. The IFCB has seen much growth and change in the time they have been volunteering there, including a strategic shift to focus more deeply on providing nutritious food resources to the Issaquah community.

IFCB made the difficult decision to close its broad clothing bank, and Cheryl, Lisa, and Angela saw the continued need for accessible clothing support. Motivated by their experiences and commitment to service, they founded the Community Clothing Closet (CCC).

The CCC’s mission is to provide quality clothing, at no cost, to those who need it most, unite communities through events grounded in compassion over commerce, and champion sustainability by keeping clothes out of landfills and into closets where they belong.  CCC is happy to partner with IFCB, the City of Issaquah, and other non-profit organizations in the community to fulfill this mission.

Who we help

We provide free clothing to people in Issaquah, Bellevue, Renton, WA and surrounding Eastside communities through accessible, no‑cost clothing events designed to reduce financial stress and promote sustainability. Our shoppers may include refugees, immigrants, youth, people experiencing homelessness, and other low-income neighbors.

Where we are

We partner closely with food banks to provide their clients with clothing, with low-income apartment complexes to bring clothing directly to seniors and residents with mobility or transportation limitations, and we work with school districts to host district-wide clothing events so students can focus on learning rather than worrying about their clothing.

We provide dignified, choice‑based, free clothing events in churches, community centers, and more across Issaquah, Renton, Bellevue, WA and surrounding communities.
